Titanic Exhibition at the American Museum
American Museum in Britain, Greater Bath
15/03/2008 - 02/11/2008

The latest exhibition at The American Museum in Britain will celebrate the glamour and tragedy of the great Atlantic liners: TITANIC - The Ship That Shook America.

In partnership with White Star auctioneers, Henry Aldridge and Son, the American Museum has gained access to private collections of Titanic memorabilia in Europe and America.

Over 1,500 perished in the tragedy – more than 1,200 of whom were third class passengers and members of the crew. Just over 700 people survived.

Showcasing a collection of verified Titanic memorabilia never before displayed in Britain and White Star Line furnishings from its sister ships, the Olympic and Britannic, this exhibition details the impact of the tragedy on America.

Objects in the exhibition – including letters written on the ship, key Marconigrams, menu cards and the personal effects of those who were lost and those who survived – will change throughout the year. Enthusiasts can keep returning to make new discoveries.
