The Theatre Royal

The theatre Royal is one of the country's oldest and most beautiful theatres located right in the heart of Bath. Built in 1805, the theatre was totally renovated in 1982 and has since enjoyed one of the most successful periods in its history. The weekly changing programme includes drama, comedy, opera and ballet with a traditional family pantomime at Christmas.

The Theatre Royal presents more pre-West End productions than almost any other theatre in the country. It is a regular date for the National Theatre, the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Northern Ballet Theatre and many famous international actors love to play Bath and enjoy both the beautiful city and the theatre.
